What emails are sent when a form is submitted?

Last updated Apr 16 2017

Once someone enters data in your form 2 types of emails are sent automatically:

1- An email to the form owner (to you).
2- An email to your form filler.

Configuration of these emails are done per form - which means you can define different emails in every form you create.
In addition, these emails may be disabled if you wish.

Email to form owner

The emails to the form owner may be controlled in the form settings.

1- Go to "Form Settings" > "Basic" tab > "Emails" Category
2- The checkbox "Send email to form owner" is turned on by default. If you wish to stop receiving an email upon each data entry you can turn off this checkbox.
The email sent by default is a standard email, which contains a table with the fields and values entered in them.
3- The checkbox "Send custom mail to form owner" allows you to configure a custome email that will be sent to you upon each submission. Custom message allows you to enter text and as well as field variables (IP, Submission Date, Submission ID and the input fields in the form).
4- Please notice that if you have both checkboxes turned on (the regular email and the custom email) - you will recieve both.
Email to form filler

You need an email element in your form in order to send the form filler an email. You can configure the emails to the form filler under the email element settings:

1- Select the "email" element in your form > Element settings > "Basic" tab
2- The checkbox "Send email to form filler" is turned on by default. If you wish to stop sending an email to your form fillers upon each data entry, you can do so by turning off this checkbox.
The email sent by default is a standard email, which contains a table with the fields and values entered in them.
3- The checkbox "Send custom email to form filler" allows you to configure a custome email that will be sent to your form filler upon his/her submission. Custom message allows you to enter text and as well as field variables (IP, Submission Date, Submission ID and the input fields in the form).
4- Please notice that if you have both checkboxes turned on (the regular email and the custom email) - you will receive both.
