Change field type

Last updated Apr 10 2019

Up till now when you dragged a certain field to your form, you could not change its type. So if for example you added a Textbox element to your form, gave it its style, added a condition or value rule, and then realized you made a mistake, and should have added an Email element instead - you could not change the field type from Textbox to Email. You would then need to drag an email element and configure its style and conditioning from the beginning…

This is why we’ve decided to add the ability to change the element type.

Changing a type of element will only work in fields that are similar. For example: you cannot change a signature element into a numeric field. But you can change a URL field to a Numeric field.

There are two groups of elements you can change the types of:
Please note that an element can only change into another element -in its group.
Group 1: Input elements:
Textbox, Numeric, Textarea, Email, URL and Price.

Group 2: Multiple input elements:
Dropdown, Radio, Checkbox, List button.
