Can I pre-fill my form fields based on Opportunity fields in Salesforce?

Last updated Mar 12 2018

Yes - you can.
FormTitan enables you to "Read" data from Salesforce and have it populated in your form fields. What this does is provide your form filler with pre-filled fields, making it quicker and easier to fill it in. In FormTitan we call this action a "Get" Integration and you can use it to read data from any Salesforce object, not just Opportunity. Further more, you can read from multiple objects and not just one.

How do i Pre-fill my form?
It's really simple actually...all you need to do is set up a "Get" integration, where you map your form fields to the SF Object fields .
Following is a simple example to get you started. In this example we will ask the filler to enter his email address and based on it we will display his first name, last name and phone,

* For this example you will need to set up a test contact in your Salesforce account and Fill in the following details: First and last name, email and phone.
1- Create a new form in the form builder
2- Drag an Email element (Don't change its label text)

3-

Drag a Button element next to the email.

Change the text on the button to "Search" and change its type to "Dummy".
This means that the button doesn't really do anything - it's just designed to get the filler to press outside of an input box (or in our case: the email element).

4-

Drag 2 Textbox elements, one for First Name and the other for Last Name.

Select them one by one and change the Textbox labels to "Last name" and "First name".

5-

Drag another textbox for the phone number.
Select it and change its label to "Phone".

6-

Now set the Salesforce Get integration:
- Go to "Properties" panel > "Form" tab > "Settings" option > "Salesforce integration" category > "Get from Salesforce"

- Press on the "map fields" button
- Authenticate with Salesforce

- Select an object: Contact

- Set a condition: Email equals Email

This means that if the email entered in your form matches an email of a contactl in your Salesforce account - this contact's name and phone will then be populated in your form.
- Map your fields:
Last name --> Last Name
First name --> First Name
Phone --> Business Phone
Press "Apply"  to save the mapping.

7-

You will now see that an new integration line has been created
Press on "Apply" and save the form.

8- Now it's time to test your form.
- Publish it as URL
- Enter the test email address in the "Email" field (In our example: jason@brown.com )
- Press on the dummy button and you will see how the other fields are populated from SF.
