Salesforce translation support for Global Picklist Value Sets

Last updated Apr 24 2018

Up Till now we have supported the translation of Standard Picklists in Salesforce. In this version we have extended this support to Global Picklists as well.

What are Global Picklist Value Sets?
When you have the same field in many Salesforce entities, it becomes a problem when you need to update it. Because it requires you to enter each and every object and manually changing the field in it. Global picklists solve this problem exactly by enabling you to create one value set that can be used across multiple Salesforce objects. Updating the fields in this situation will require making a change in only one place: the global picklist.

What are Standard Picklist Value Sets?
Oli Lane summed it up nicely in his post Deploying standard value sets in Salesforce:” As a brief recap, many Salesforce standard objects have picklist fields - fields that allow only a restricted set of predefined values. Before Winter 17, these predefined values were stored with the field definition, but now they're stored separately. These new collections of values are called standard value sets. For example, the Type picklist on the Opportunity object now has its values stored in the OpportunityType standard value set.”
