If you are using a file upload field in your form to collect JPG or PNG type images then you must also consider your storage space. A single file, depending on its dimensions and quality can reach 10MB, for example,, and when you have many form fillers uploading files like that...well, you can do the math yourself…
One of the solutions offered by FormTitan so far is to put a value rule on the File upload element, specifying its Max size.
In this version we have come up with another solution, in which you can have your uploaded files compressed.
All you have to do is:
- Select the File upload element on canvas
- Go to the Element Settings > Advanced category and press on the 'Configure' button.
- A window will then open allowing you to configure how the files will be compressed:
Max width
Max height
Quality
If you enter a Max height for the file, its dimensions will downsize according to it, keeping image proportions intact. You can also use the Max height for resizing, or both.
If you choose to compress the file by lowering its quality this will not change the original height and width of the image. (The default value is 100, but you can enter a lower number to reduce the quality).
Enjoy!
